To Vape or Not To Vape (That is the Question)

Whether or not to vape was a pretty heavy question for me, but that was almost a year ago. August 3rd, 2014 marks the official one year anniversary without so much as one analog (Tobacco) cigarette. I have learned a lot about e-cigs along the way. Like, very few sales people will actually tell you anything unless they think you’re going to buy something and they don’t care what you buy. Buy the wrong device and…bad experience which leads to the return to tobacco, buy the wrong kind of e-liquid and… bad experience which leads to the return to tobacco, have the only battery you own conk out and you find yourself at a convenience store purchasing a pack of smokes.   It’s tough…but it can be done. Over the next few weeks I thought I would share some of the blunders as well as the good fortunes concerning what to buy, how to use it and methodology that helped me quit cigarettes. This is a whole new world for me and I hope that some of the enthusiasm will rub off on others that are struggling with one of the world’s worst addictions available on the free market.

For openers stay away from pen style throw away tanks and clearomizers. Admittedly they’re cheap, but cheap being the operable word. Don’t waste your time and hard earned money on ego style batteries. Their power is limited, inaccurate, and short lived.

My suggestion for a suitable replacement to these would be something on the order of the SVD or MVP by Innokin. Both of these and many others like them are regulated devices that will produce the same results each time you take a puff. My suggestion for a tank would be something like the Kanger Tech Pro Tank 2 or anything similar to it. For those of you out there ready to jump to the next level, I would suggest a rebuildable atomizer like the Kayfun or the Russian 91%.

In regards to liquids…it’s kind of subjective, but some people tolerate Propylene Glycol and vegetable glycerin and some don’t. PG fluids have a thinner base and burn cooler. VG fluids are thicker and burn hotter. If you’re unsure…start off with a fifty-fifty mixture and experiment. The only other substances in the e-liquid are nicotine (optional) and food flavoring.

In the upcoming weeks I’ll start breaking all this stuff down with a brief history of how it affected me. Remember, we’re all different and the results can and will vary. The bottom line is…try to have fun, it’s easier to beat the habit than you think.
