Memorial Day 2024 – America Remembers
Once again, the last Monday of May is upon us. For many it is a long weekend for camping, parties, lots of sales, and even Memorial Day cruises. There are many reasons why this day is notable.
But let’s not forget the real reason – the important reason. It was set aside to remember and honor all those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the military service of America . . . Those who died fighting to preserve our lives and our freedom. They won’t be here to celebrate with us because they gave up everything for us.
So, amidst our celebrations, let’s pause and take time to remember the thousands of men and women whose lives were cut short so that we could live and be with those we love to enjoy our freedoms. God help us to remember the cost of our blessings and to remain worthy of that cost.
“Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices. Four things support the world: the learning of the wise, the justice of the great, the prayers of the good, and the valor of the brave.”

May God Bless All of America’s Veterans!
Thank you for your sacrifice, you gave your strength, your youth and time.
You did a job not many will. You deserved our respect and you do still.
Though you didn’t give your life, you were a willing soul.
Only your brothers in combat, your suffering truly know.
We love that you are here with us and honor who you are.
A grateful nation appreciates every single scar
That wrote upon the slate of you, though you were very brave.
You came back to us a hero, you are not the same.
For you have learned to bear the weight of defending freedom’s call.
But you did come back, and that is what we give thanks for most of all.
We honor you on Veteran’s Day. Thank you for your service!!!

Veterans Day 2019 – THANK YOU!
This holiday is a time to show appreciation for all those who served America, both living and dead. It’s celebrated each year on November 11, the day the Allied forces and Germany enacted an agreement in 1918 that ended World War I.
We honor all those who have served and are now serving in the armed forces fighting for our freedom.

REMEMBER all those who fought for our freedom!!!
Take time today and remember all the men and women who fought for our freedom!
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in our country’s armed forces. The holiday, which is observed every year on the last Monday of May, originated as Decoration Day after the American Civil War in 1868, when the Grand Army of the Republic, an organization of Union veterans, established it as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers. Memorial Day eventually extended to honor all Americans who died in the Military Service.
“THE FALLEN”
A Poem by Robert Laurence Binyon (1869-1943), published in The Times newspaper on 21st September 1914.
With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.
Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England’s foam.
But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;
As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain,
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.
“Thank You” to all our fallen soldiers! We will remember you always!
